Plumbers design, install and repair all kinds of systems for water, waste, drainage, sprinklers, steam, gas, heating and cooling in residential, commercial and manufacturing applications. Plumbers also install fixtures such as sinks, toilets, showers, bathtubs, dishwashers and water heaters. Plumbers connect all types of pipes and tubing, while following strict safety procedures and building codes.

Moore Tech's plumbing program teaches beginning students everything necessary to enter the plumbing profession. It also prepares existing plumbing employees to advance in the profession. Each student takes one course per term, a total of three courses per year, for three years, a total of nine courses before graduation. Beginning with the first term, Introduction to Plumbing, a student spends 84 hours each term in classroom and lab activities. Students learn all phases of plumbing, including systems design, appliances and fixtures, liquid and gas distribution systems, piping, soldering, brazing and welding, trouble-shooting and repair, reading blueprints and understanding plumbing codes.
