Associate Degree

Moore Tech offers an Associate Degree of Applied Technology.

The associate degree is available to any student in the day programs of

  • Air Conditioning, Refrigeration& Heating
  • Automotive Service Technology
  • Industrial Electricity/Plant Maintenance
  • Machine Shop
  • Welding Advanced
  • Property Maintenance Advanced

Students enrolled in the associate degree program will have their clock hour credits converted to trimester hour credits. Upon successful completion of the two-year trade program and the 15 hours of general education students will be awarded the associate degree.

General Education Courses will include:

  • Technical Writing 3 credit hrs
  • Professional Development 3 credit hrs
  • Psychology 3 credit hrs
  • Technical Physics 3 credit hrs
  • Math for Technicians 3 credit hrs
  • Computer Skills  3 credit hrs (Automotive Service Technology)
  • Total: 15 credit hrs

(One General Education Course will be offered each semester.)

Important: ALL associate degree students MUST be high school graduates or have a GED. General education courses taken at other accredited postsecondary schools may be transferable toward the degree requirements, subject to the Admissions Department. The purpose of this degree program is to better empower students to succeed in their selected trade.

Moore Tech Transfer Agreement with University of Arkansas Fort Smith (UAFS) and Ranken College.  

(Bachelor’s of Applied Science and Applied Management Degree)

Moore Tech students now have the possibility to transfer their training from Moore Tech toward a Bachelor’s Degree of Applied Science and Applied Management Degree to Ranken College in St. Louis, Missouri or University of Arkansas Fort Smith (UAFS).

Ranken Technical College in St. Louis, Missouri will accept transferable credits earned with a grade of “C” or higher from Moore Tech’s technical degree programs towards their Bachelor’s of Science and Applied Management degree program. Ranken’s program is offered as an online program that works out perfectly for students living in Memphis area. 

University of Arkansas Fort Smith (UAFS) will accept transferable credits from Moore Tech's technical degree programs towards a Bachelor's of Applied Science. UAFS program is offered as an online program. 

Moore Tech is accredited by the Council of Occupational Education. Other than the University of Arkansas Fort Smith (UAFS) and  Ranken College Transfer Agreements, Moore Tech makes no statement or guarantee of transfer-ability of credit toward other colleges. It is up to other colleges whether they will or will not accept credits from Moore Tech. Students interested in transferring to other colleges should contact the other colleges prior to enrolling at Moore Tech.
